The Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international non-profit organization founded by Frederic Ozenam in 1833, currently with hundreds of thousands of members and almost 45,000 conferences – or, local groups — throughout the globe. There are three conferences serving Haverhill. Members, also called Vincentians, are volunteers who aim to serve Christ by helping those in need. Vincentians give assistance to individuals and families directly by meeting with them to address their needs, providing them with food or clothing via food banks and thrift stores, connecting them with other resources in their neighborhood which can provide further help, and in a multitude of other ways. Approximately 12 million individuals in the US are assisted by the Society each year.
